Abstract
Love has been an eternal subject of human life and art creations.In 21st century,with the increasing number of bachelors and bachelorettes,modern youth in China has been experiencing an unprecedented overwhelming shock of Singles Tide.In its struggles from difficult situations,television has promptly grasped a chance and accomodates the social trend by creating opportunities for young people to fall in love with each other in their programs.Therefore,programs on love have been growing like mushrooms after a shower.All the famous satellite TV channels have been proud of being matchmakers.Dating on TV programs has been the latest fashion and even a trend,which attracts many TV watchers,especially those young adults.However,with the popularity of TV dating,some problems appear as well.Among many of them,some questions are posed such as whether programs should be more realistic or more entertaining,which are two contrasting directions and are doubted by the audience.The author holds the opinion that the two aspects are not totally incompatible with each other.Actually,they can be two independent features and be incorporated organically,which is going to be a brandnew program and the result of the transformation of Chinese traditional programs.In order to win more audience,it is imperative to improve the developing dating programs to get rid of misconceptions,such as inappropriate opinions and idealogies,rigid modes of thinking,as well as specific improper operational manners.That way,social benefits and economic profits can be obtained at the same time.
The paper takes the growth of some highly-rated TV match-making programs in recent years as objectives.Based on the relevant arhcives and reviews on such programs from both home and abroad,by means of induction and research,the author uses personal viewpoints and methods to explore deeply the conflicts between entertainment and realism in domestic TV dating programs as well the measures to incorporate the two features.Some remedial suggestions are provided by the author as well.
