What is marketing?
Marketing is the social process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want through creating and exchanging products and value with others.
Marketing is the management process that identifies, anticipates and satisfies customer requirements profitably
Why is this beneficial to the organisation?
Internal Marketing is synonymous to Employee Branding and Internal Branding and is the practice of treating employees exactly as one would treat an organisation's customers in order to keep job satisfaction high, thus increasing loyalty and retention.
What do we mean by Marketing Orientation?
The concept of marketing orientation was developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s at Harvard University and at a handful of forward thinking companies. It replaced the previous sales orientation that was prevalent between the mid 1950s and the early 1970s, and the production orientation that predominated prior to the mid 1950s.
The market orientation simply defines an organization that understands the
importance of customer needs, makes an effort to provide products of
high value to its customers, and markets its products and services in a
coordinated holistic program across all departments. In what we call
the "Marketing Concept," the company embraces a philosophy that the
"Customer is King."
